Contrast between the dots and the background, inverted color schemes that some cameras reject, how much of the code a logo covers, and whether the quiet margin is wide enough.

Instead of a vague score you get a pass or a specific warning, such as "darken the dots" or "shrink the logo". Size guidance is included too: as a rule of thumb, a code should be at least a tenth as wide as the distance it is scanned from.
