Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to run a business with Utilica, and to buy from the stores built with it. This page says what that means in practice, and how to reach us when it falls short.
1. What this site is built to do
Utilica is built to work with screen readers, keyboards and zoom: every control has a name, headings describe each part of a page, colors are checked against the contrast guidelines in WCAG 2.2 AA in both the light and dark themes, screens work at 200% zoom, and animation stops for people who've asked their device for less motion.
The website editor checks each site for common problems (photos without descriptions, buttons without words, hard-to-read colors) before it goes live.
2. Where it may fall short
Some parts come from other companies (payment forms, maps, embedded videos) and follow their own accessibility work. Automatic checks don't catch everything, and no site is perfect for everyone.
3. If something doesn't work for you
Write to support@utilica.app and say what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We'll do our best to help you finish, and to fix it.
4. Stores built with Utilica
Every store made with Utilica has its own accessibility page at /accessibility, linked from its footer, with the store's contact details. The store's own content (its photos, videos, files and any custom code) is the store's responsibility; the editor points out common problems before a site goes live, but it can't catch everything.
5. How we work on it
New screens are checked with automated tools in both the light and dark themes at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, and tried with a keyboard. We fix problems people report ahead of other work. We don't use accessibility overlay widgets: they get in the way of the assistive technology people already use.
