How it works
The code holds your PayPal.Me link: paypal.me/yourname, or paypal.me/yourname/25 with an amount. Scanning it with a phone camera opens PayPal ready to pay you, in the app or on the PayPal website.
The payment happens there, between your customer and you. We are not part of it, we never see it, and we take nothing.
You need a PayPal.Me link
PayPal.Me is the short link PayPal gives each account, at paypal.me/ followed by a name you choose. If you have not set one up, you can do it from your PayPal profile. Then enter that name here.
Where sellers put it
- A stand beside the till
- The front of a market table
- Invoices, quotes and receipts
- Event and class flyers
- The back of a business card
Before you print
Scan the code yourself and check that the name PayPal shows is yours. A name typed wrong sends money to somebody else, and a printed code cannot be corrected.
The code keeps working for as long as your PayPal.Me name stays the same. If you change it, print new codes.
Selling more than one thing?
A fixed amount works for one price. For a menu or a table of products, a page does the adding up: customers pick what they want, see the total with tax, and PayPal opens with that exact amount. Cash App, Venmo and Zelle can sit beside it.
